This week is starting out to be a very busy one. Today there was VBS, a 38 week doctor's appointment, a trip to my work to square away maternity leave, lunch with good friends, and haircuts for both girls. As previously promised, here is a photo of me at 38 weeks with Annie and one with Jack. Wow!!!!!!!!! - Gross!
Ella made the trip to work with me and even got to see one of the babies in the unit briefly. We had a great time at lunch with Mrs. Jennifer, Christopher, Caitlyn and new baby sister Courtney. They all seem to be adjusting very well to the new addition. There was only one minor incident while we were at the restaurant (if you consider CiCi's pizza a restaurant). Annie wanted to play games in the game room so I gave her $1 in quarters and explained that there was no more to be had and that the game that grabs toys was a scam and she would not win a toy. Well, she of course didn't believe me and did it twice anyway, just sure she would win that stuffed duck. The tears flowed when I tried to explain it to her to the point where I took a dollar bill out of my purse to try to win it myself. Another mistake. I lost. Big shock. She was again devastated - that heartbreaking look with the tears streaming down but without the scene that makes you not feel sorry for them. So I felt so bad for her. A valuable lesson learned though.
The haircuts are so cute. Ella's ended up shorter than expected because she wouldn't keep her head down. Still, I like it and it will prove easier to deal with too.
