Tellus Field Trip

Here they are in their new dresses ready to go to Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Ga with Annie's First Grade class.  Too cute!! 

They did experiments to learn about temperature and weather.  Ella even got to participate.  She felt so big and learned a lot as well.

Our guide took the kids outside and taught them how to identify different types of clouds which was a nice review of what they learned earlier this year.

And here's a sweet little rashy boy who never acted the least bit sick the whole day.  I just thought that since I had changed laundry detergent, baby food, formula and fabric softener that he was having a reaction.  Silly me!  He is much better now, thank goodness!

Here they are on the beautiful grounds of the museum.  When we got there that afternoon and entered the campus the girls both went, "WOW!!!  Look how cool!!!"  I thought that they meant that the grounds were amazing and that they were admiring all of the museum "stuff" that is out and about.  Wrong.  Annie then said, "Do you think they will let us play in those sprinklers?"  Too funny!

Sibling Author's Share

Annie had another Author's Share a few weeks ago.  This one was for siblings so Ella got to come and enjoy a cup of ice cream and Annie's new "How to" book.  Nanny came with us to read her book and see Annie's classroom.  I attribute the poor picture taking to my lack of sleep.  Her book was so cute.  It was "How to Bake Sugar Cookies".  What a treasure all of these books will be when she grows up.

Go Ella Go!!!

Ella has really come a long way in soccer this year.  She is getting in the middle and taking control of that ball!  We have been giving her pep talks before the games and practice.  She has enjoyed it more, too.  We are so proud of her!  Annie uses soccer games as time to socialize and catch up with friends.  Those are my girls!

Nanny enjoyed her visit...don't you think?

What a blessing to have Nanny here for 3 weeks!  The girls had a ball and Jack had to literally be reprogrammed to take naps without being rocked.  We all had a great visit.  Confession: I maybe did 2 loads of laundry while she was here.  You can't get anywhere near the laundry room until about 10pm when she goes to bed.  It is her constant goal while here.  Wonderful!  Can I get a witness!!!  We love you Nanny!

Here is my Ella.  I just love all her different faces.  She didn't want to give a real teeth showing smile very often but I kind of like the half grin on her.  Notice the picture where she is showing what we have termed "the Ella" face.  Stinker.

Okay, I can't wait any longer to post these beautiful pictures.  I will catch up later.  These are some of the pictures that Melody took last Friday.  Unbelievable!!!  She has always been a great photographer and these are just further proof.  I can't wait to blow up a few and replace the ones over my mantle that she took when the girls were 3 and 6 months.  Jack was sick Friday and not looking too pretty with a Scarlet Fever rash all over his face arms and legs so we will take pictures of him on a different day.  I will post some of Ella in the next post.  She was such a stinker which was great because Melody captured the real Ella in many of them.  Annie, as usual, did exactly as she was told except for putting feet and arms in the grass (not her thing) and dodging a bumble bee occasionally (I don't blame her).  Hey, she's phobic for a reason people!  It's genetic.

Sweet Faces...mostly

I think that it is very clear that I don't know what I'm doing with my camera.  However, I did spend some time with my sister-in-law Melody the other day and have a few new things to try that should help me.  These were taken in Downtown Woodstock in the park while Nanny was here (before Melody's instruction so don't judge me).  I'm trying to get caught up so I can post the beautiful pictures she took of them.  Thanks again, Melody!!!

Gardening 101

While Nanny was here she and the girls planted flowers around the front and back trees.  They had so much fun picking out the flowers and planning where they were going to go.  They didn't even mind the dirt that much.  I helped too although I could have done without the dirt.  I promptly washed all hands and arms off with the sprinkler before we went inside.  I love seeing the flowers out the window and I love the memory of seeing my girls learn from their Nanny.  We even got a steal of a deal from a nice Lowe's employee named Kate who was trying to get rid of some bricks.  She sold us 100 bricks for 3 cents each.  We placed them around the flower bed so the dirt won't run off when it rains.
