Maternal Bliss ***Warning***Potty related post

What can make a mother (especially a nine months pregnant one) jump out of bed in the morning, look frantically for pancake mix and when none is found throw 2 kids in a van and whisk them to McDonald's with a smile on her face, excitedly anticipate a trip to Chuck-e-Cheese's without even a mere dread of the immeasurable noise level or even relish packing loads of extra clothes, panties, plastic bags, toilet paper and a toddler sized princess potty in the back of a van? If you haven't guessed, here it is........... Ella is finally using the potty!!!!!!!!! She literally held her bladder for 22 hours on Wednesday. We went nowhere and even missed church for this blessed event but it did finally occur around 6:30pm last night. Since there was 22 hours worth of urine in her system, we had plenty of time to discuss how easy it was, how it didn't hurt, and it wasn't scary at all while she made the river Nile. She fussed briefly this morning but very quickly gave in and went. Since this morning she has gone about 4 more times without the slightest bit of hesitancy and of her own prompting. Number 2 is still on the schedule for this afternoon and she is a bit worried about that. I'm praying for God to give her courage and me patience.

I am so proud of her. She had such a rough day yesterday and it broke my heart to see her pacing the floor in pain and screaming while she sat on the potty constantly moving her little legs. But she did it!! She is proud of herself and knows that she accomplished a VERY big thing and that we are not going back. I showed her the empty box of diapers and she understands that Jack will be the only one wearing stinky, smelly diapers now!! Hooray!!! What a wonderful day!!!!
We met Aunt Mel and Claire to celebrate at Chuck-e-Cheese's and even baked some lovely purple sprinkly cupcakes to share with everyone after lunch. The last picture is what is occurring right now. Sleep, wonderful, hard-earned sleep. I think I'll go get some mommy stuff done.
