Last weekend was so much fun but sooooo busy. On Saturday, both girls had their dance recitals. Sounds great - both on the same day, right? Wrong!!! Ella's recital started at 10am and she had to be ready and there by 9am. The recitals last about 2 1/2 hours and Annie's started at 2pm so she had to be there by 1pm. That left us 30 minutes for lunch and the complete change of both girls and all the readiness that goes into getting a dancer ready for performance. Add to this my lack of sleep on Friday night and you have a FUN day. (I dozed during several performances just to survive - no my own kids of course) Really, though, it was great fun. The girls each had a blast and were so proud of their medals! Each danced her little heart out!!!
The following day was Mother's Day. What a special day Mark and the girls made it. That morning the girls gave me necklaces and cards they had made just for me. After church, they took me to lunch at Texas Roadhouse (YUM). The Mauldin's (some dear friends of ours) joined us, too so our kids had a great time with their kids and we actually got to have some adult conversation between cutting up steak and vegetables. It was such a fun day and I am so blessed as a Mom and a wife to have such a wonderful family.
