She's got a golden ticket......

Annie made the school-wide spelling bee scheduled for March 23rd.  We are so proud of her and she even came in 1st place in her class!!!  That girls is such a mess.  She gets into the car yesterday with an average expression on her face and I assume she didn't make it at all.  I try to pretend like I haven't been thinking about it ALL DAY LONG and ask her how her day was.  She says, "good".  Typical answer for her.  So I probe a little more.  "Annie, did anything exciting happen at school today?"  She says, "YES.....we got to play outside because the weather was so nice."  Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!  Okay.  Time to just put it all out there.  "Annie, did you have your class spelling bee today?"  "Oh yeah, I got first place."  Just like that.  No big deal.  She was more excited about the fact that they had them spell their names to get them started.  Crazy girl.  We will be attending the school bee.  It will be great to see her in action but I will be a nervous wreck.  We better get to studying.  Mark and I looked up the 7th and 8th grade spelling bee list.  Wow!  I don't know what half of them mean let alone how to spell them.
