School Valentine's Day Party

Okay, I'm playing catch up.  Annie's Valentine's Day party at school went pretty well.  Another mom and I were in charge but her daughter caught the dreaded stomach flu that day so that left me.  Fun.  Not my thing at all to stand in front of 20 6-7 year olds and explain a craft and a game.  They always seem to look at me with eyes that say, "You have no idea what you're doing, do you?"  I think they can tell when you're uncomfortable.  I became a nurse so I didn't have to be a teacher.  I became a baby nurse so my patients wouldn't talk to me.  How's that for honesty.  Anyway, there were several mother's who stayed to help me which was a blessing and except for Jack falling out of his carseat and onto the hard floor it all went pretty well.  They liked the craft and the game.  The latter was a tad bit too lively but all worked out fine.
On the same day as the party Annie's class had a Reader's Theater where they each have a part in a play and perform it for the parents.  Annie was the little old woman in The Gingerbread Boy and she did a great job!
