4 year checkup
So today we had Ella's 4 year old check-up at the doctor's office. She is such a mess and I really should have prepped her first for the kinds of questions they would ask. The nurse asked her what number she would call in an emergency. She said, "Ummmm, 6?" Great. We need to work on that, I guess. Next, the doctor came in and started asking her what kinds of foods she likes to eat. Notice she said "likes" not "should". So out came "hotdog". Great again. Next round. The doctor says, "Tell me some healthy foods, Ella." Ella says, "Corndogs." Parent of the year right here ladies and gents. So we get the lecture on healthy foods and snacks. Nevermind that she ate yogurt, grapes and bananas for breakfast this morning. She did however remember to tell Dr. H that she had whipped cream on her fruit this morning after I made her tell her what she had eaten. Of course she did. Then the check out lady fussed at me for not bringing in my new insurance cards that show an increase in the copay. Sorry. I got 1 hour of sleep in 36 yesterday. That was not top priority on my list today. I wanted to say, "you just got 5 extra dollars more than ususal and I'm sure we will see you again within the month since we were already here just yesterday so cool it." But I held my tongue. Anyway, Ella is doing fine and had 4 shots which she did beautifully through. She just didn't want the bandaid!!! Please not the bandaid!!! A little whimpering and all was well. I wish they were all that easy.
