Mother's Day 2010

Mother's Day this year was very special.  That Saturday, after the girls' dance recital they gave me a necklace to wear the next morning to church.  If I look a little rough, it's because I'm on very little sleep.  Just don't left click on it or it will be really horrific! 

The next morning the girls and Mark made me breakfast complete with a fruit salad!  I didn't dress a single person but myself.  This was a plan devised by Annie.  She wanted me to take my time and be able to read my Bible as long as I wanted that morning (her exact sweet words).  Believe it or not, it really happened, even though we leave for church at 7:40! 

Ella gave me a dress.  So very sweet and so very STRAIGHT!  This girl needs an A-line if you catch my drift but after several trips to Target the problem was remedied.  That does wonders for the self-esteem.  She did a great job picking something that looked really cute on the rack!

Jack gave me a Target gift card like a good boy.

And Annie gave me a notebook that I get all to myself for taking notes during chruch.  She "noticed" that all of my pages had been drawn on in my other books.  I wonder who could have done that?  Such a thoughtful gift and she has really kept her little drawing hands off of it!  It looks so neat and organized! 

They all did a great job!  I feel so loved and appreciated by all of these huge blessings God has placed in my life.

Dance Recital 2010

How pretty are these girls?  This was Annie's 4th dance recital and Ella's 2nd.  Hard to believe!  They both did a wonderful job and knew all of their steps.  We are so proud of you girls.  Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Lizette did an awesome job as well.  Aunt Mel and Claire came to share this time with us.  As you can tell I am trying to catch up on my blogging.  If this silly blogger would download pictures quicker I think I would be more apt to update.  Next up will be Mother's Day so stay tuned!  I got some great gifts.  I leave you with a very inappropriate photo.  We told Ella that we were going to change clothes and grab dinner after the recital so she stripped right there in the chapel.  Oops!  Well, at least she kept the medal on!

Why we have Mother's Day...

Here is the very reason that we have Mother's Day and ironically this is my Mother's Day party given by Miss Annie and Miss Ella.  There was even little tiny pieces of "confetti" (coloring book pages torn to shreds) covering the playroom.  So very sweet but oh, so fun to clean. 

Six Flags!!!!!!

First, let me say that I was probably more excited than either of these two sweet little faces you see in these pictures.  I have dreamed of the day when my kids would be old enough to ride roller coasters with me since Mark isn't a big rider anymore.  Yes, I'm serious.  Other mothers dream of the day when they can take their daughters to get a mani/pedi and I dream of the day when she will say, "Oooh, Mom!  That looks so scary I think I might throw up if I ride it.  Let's do it!!!!!!"  We had a blast!!  Even Ella who looks a little skeptical about the swings had a ball.  She wanted to live there.  Near the Log Jamboree I believe.  That was her favorite.  Annie rode the Mine Train and they both braved Wile E. Coyote's Canyon Blaster which I must say looked more benign than it actually was.  The girls rode together and I sat behind them and they did great.  I had my hand on little Ella the entire ride yelling, "You're doing great!!!"  Hoping she would think so too.  She pretty much did and they both said that they want to go back soon.  Annie won a ticket for this summer so we will have to use that to celebrate her reading accomplishment.  Yeah, that's why.  It has nothing to do with the fact that I want to go and WILL find a place to leave Jack so that Mark can ride too.  I'm thinking that if we bring a certain nephew along that we could even trade out with the kids and ride a few big coasters too.  Just thinkin'. 

Last week we saw Annie's class perform their end of the year program at school.  The sang folk songs like

Shoo Fly and The Old Gray Mare.  They all looked so cute in their bandanas.  At the end they did a dance to Shoo Fly that was adorable and looked pretty difficult.  Annie has really enjoyed this year with Mrs. Lipsky and I think she has leared a lot about music.

Last Soccer Game and Awards Night

Here is Ella in her very last soccer game of the year.  She also enjoyed drawing in the dirt - a skill that I thought neither of my girls would ever attempt.  I took pictures so that I wouldn't interfere and get after her with a baby wipe.  She survived the experience just fine.  I still have a long way to go in the dirt area.  I have a feeling that a certain little boy will take care of that.  Ella, you did a great job in soccer this year and we are so proud of you, dirt and all!!!

Finally, I was able to upload my pictures to the blog.  I have tried at least 4 times and the computer keeps freezing up on me.  These are the pictures that Melody took of Jack a few weeks ago.  I love, love, love them.  Melody, you are the best!!!

Also, it keeps messing up the order that I put the pictures in so please know that my intent is not for you to see me first.  I'm too afraid to rearrange for fear of losing it all completely again.  Now hopefully I can get caught up.  There is Six Flags to talk about!
